Family Introduction

Tanvi Rawal

Tanvi hails from an affluent Gujarati-Darbar family in Gujarat, a lineage of doctors and business tycoons. Defying tradition, she is the lone maverick who pursued forensic pathology instead of aligning with the family's hospital legacy. Amid constant battles against societal and familial expectations, she finds limited support, with her mother and brothers standing by her only partially.

Dr Naman Rawal (Father)

Age: 58

Naman, a proud yet traditional patriarch, disapproves of Tanvi's career, deeming it unworthy of the family legacy. Their relationship is a relentless clash of wills—he dismisses her work entirely, while she steadfastly refuses to seek his approval.

Iravati "Ira" Rawal (Mother)

Age: 55

Ira is a compassionate peacemaker. She deeply cares for Tanvi but hesitates to openly stand by her in conflicts with Naman. Their bond is affectionate yet restrained by long-standing family traditions. Ira is a homemaker.

Dr Varun Rawal (Eldest Brother, Twin of Vayu)

Age: 32

Varun, the most mature and responsible of the three, is calm, disciplined, and strict by nature. He is the elder twin brother; he admires Tanvi's determination but struggles to understand her choice of forensic pathology over what he considers a "proper" medical career. Acting like a second father, he often lectures her on responsibilities, yet he trusts her abilities and is fiercely protective, disapproving of her rebellious streak.

Dr Vayu Rawal (Middle Brother, Twin of Varun)

Age: 32

Vayu is a disciplined and intense individual known for being overprotective of his younger sister, Tanvi. He is the younger twin brother; he strictly adheres to rules and values family honor above all else. As a skilled surgeon, he approaches life with precision and seriousness. While he lacks Varun's calm ddemeanour he is emotionally invested in family matters. His possessiveness can be suffocating, as he disapproves of Tanvi's independence and her work involving crime scenes. Despite being irritated by her challenges to his authority, he secretly feels proud of her intelligence and capabilities.

Dr Aniket Rawal (Youngest Elder Brother)

Age: 29

Aniket is a fun-loving and easygoing sibling, a gifted doctor with a lighthearted approach to life. He playfully teases his siblings but remains fiercely loyal to his family. He understands Tanvi's need for independence, treating her as an equal rather than a younger sister. Aniket encourages her rebellious spirit, often helping her sneak away from family events. Though he jokes with her, he is also her biggest supporter and defends her fiercely. He affectionately calls her "Chhoti Einstein" to tease her intellect.

Vedant Jadhav

Vedant hails from Satara, Maharashtra, a region with deep ties to Maratha pride, military traditions, and service to the state. For generations, men in the Jadhav family served either in the armed forces or the police, earning them respect in their community. Their ancestral home still stands in a village near Karad, where the extended family gathers during festivals. Despite being rooted in tradition, Vedant's immediate family moved to Pune when he was a child after his father's posting. He grew up in a disciplined, service-driven environment that shaped his moral compass.

Late Major Ajinkya Jadhav (Father)

Deceased at Age: 38

Ajinkya, a decorated army officer, served in the Indian Army (Mahar Regiment). Died during a counter-insurgency operation in Jammu & Kashmir when Vedant was 12. His legacy is the compass Vedant carries in his work. Vedant wears his father's old wristwatch, slightly worn but still ticking.

Shailaja Jadhav (Mother)

Age: 55

Shailaja is a retired school principal in Pune. Widowed young when her husband died in the line of duty. Shailaja is strong-willed, deeply principled, with a quiet grace. She raised Vedant with both tenderness and steel, ensuring he carried forward his father's values without being consumed by bitterness. She speaks fluent Sanskrit shlokas, ais lover of old Marathi literature, but also practical and modern in her outlook. Shares a close, wordless bond with Vedant—she can read his silences.

Hiranya "Hiru" Jadhav (Younger Sister)

Age: 26

Hiranya is a vibrant, spirited, outspoken veterinary doctor based in Pune. The opposite of Vedant's stoicism—she's expressive, witty, and not afraid to call out his brooding. Their sibling bond is one of banter and grounding: she teases him about being "Mumbai's brooding DCP," but also quietly worries for him. She's close to Tanvi later in the story, bridging the gap between Vedant's guarded world and Tanvi's inquisitive one.
